Mikrocensus 1991, 3. quarter: Questions on Working Time

DOI

This Mikrozensus survey poses questions on Working Time to employed persons. In connection with the reduction of Working Time over the last years, new information on Working Time, extra hours, weekend- and night work is needed. Moreover, current data on labour organisation (fixed-term employment, nursing leave, possibility to choose the date of the holiday, on-call service outside the normal Working Time) serve as an important basis for ongoing public (political) discussions. This survey continues a series of Mikrozensus surveys on labour market and job questions and largely follows the survey on Working Time conducted in September 1987 (Mikrozensus MZ8703). The emphasis is on: - characteristics of the working place and organisation of the enterprise (weekend-, evening-, night-, shift- and rotation work, housemanship, flexitime, nursing leave, fixed-term employment, visits to the doctor or authorities, on-call service outside the normal Working Time, possibility to choose the date of the holiday, existence of a works council) - time-related volume of work (extra-hours, part-time) - active search for a job with more/less Working Time per week - net income The main target group of the program are employees.
