Data sets are included of mineral weight %s of sediments based on the whole pattern quantitative X-ray Diffraction (qXRD) approach (Eberl, 2003) on the values may indicate the presence of minerals not selected as being present. An additional data consists of counts and identification of gravel clasts from core HU90020-074 from Orphan Knoll. This core was also sampled for X-ray diffraction analysis of Hudson Strait Heinrich events that occurred during Marine Isotope Stage 5. The mineral wt% data from Hudson Strait and from other areas are used in a sediment unmixing program "SedUnMix" (Andrews and Eberl, 2012), using the "Solver" in Excel, to predict the probable source(s) for a mineral mixture. Grain-size data on the < 2 mm sediment faction was undertaken using a Malvern Mastersizer 3000, and the Gradistat program for sediment descriptions (Blott and Pye, 2001). The wt% data for four source areas for sediments in the Labrador Sea are included as are the results for the application to cores HU20011031-059, HU91020-074, and HU2004024-042 with and without the wt% of calcite. The purpose of these data sets is to allow a specific understanding of the spatial and temporal variations in the area of Hudson Strait in order to better understand changes in the mineral composition of marine cores from the Labrador Sea, especially during Hudson Strait Heinrich events (Andrews and Voelker, 2018).
