A recent beautifully resolved INS spectrum of solid ammonia shows distinct differences in phonon states compared to initial calculation. This suggests that strong anharmonicities are present in the system, due to the weak but extensive hydrogen bond network in the solid. No quasielastic data has been collected for ammonia solid, and we propose a study across the solid temperature range. Ammonia has been highlighted as an important chemical for energy materials and development, and a full understanding of the solid behaviour will be vital in the pursuit of storage and application.
