Litter Decomposition & Root Traits under Simulated Heavy Rainfall Events in Adventdalen, Svalbard

DOI

Root biomass, root C:N, separated into grass and shrub roots. For the root biomass data, the total weight of the root sample was measured, and the shrub and grass roots separately after dividing them. Then the roots were ground up and a subsample of maximum 3 mg was taken. The C:N was done on the subsample. The data for the litter decomposition bags has been added, containing weight of the bags in pre- and post-burial, for four different litter types (Lipton green tea, shrub litter, grass litter, general local soil organic matter taken from the soil cores). The litter types have each been analysed for their C:N as well. The weight of the litter bags before and after burial wasdetermined for the complete litter bag, which included a mesh bag, 2 staples, 2 coloured beads, and the litter content.
