To study social class distributions and their effects on marital movement in the City of Oxford from 1837 to 1970. The study also examines the effects of social mobility, and marriages between the social classes.

Social class of groom, social class of bride, social class of groom's father and of bride's father. Please note: this study does not include information on named individuals and would therefore not be useful for personal family history research.
