Investigation of heterotrophs reveals new insights in dinoflagellate evolution

By sequencing many single cell transcriptomes of dinoflagellates with an emphasis on heterotrophic species, we expand dinoflagellate data to better reflect the diversity of the group. This allows us to investigate the evolutionary history of important dinoflagellate characteristics.
