To account for salinity variations first 0.5‰ was subtracted from the delta180 value. The result was then divided by 0.23 (after Epstein et al., 1953), and added to the estimated seafloor temperature. This value is the sum of the correction for changes in AAIW temperature and the subsidence correction, which accounts for changes in seafloor temperature as a result of subsidence
