The AFM ground state of CeCu2Ge2 can be continuously suppressed by Co doping and NFL type behavior is seen around the critical concentration xc = 0.6. The electrical resistivity reflects the crystal field effect which does not change appreciably with increasing x. The low-temperature maxima around 6 K can be attributed to Kondo coherence, is monotonically decreasing with increasing x in sharp contrast to increase in Tmax in CeCu2 (Si1-xGex)2 and CeCu2Ge2 under pressure. C/T vs T data for Ce(Cu0.4Co0.6)2Ge2 follow power law behavior in temperature range 0.3 K to 3.6 K. So it would be interesting to investigate the exact nature of quantum critical fluctuation near xc along with CEF excitation in the doped system using inelastic neutron scattering technique. We therefore propose to carry out INS study on these compounds using the MARI/MERLIN specrtometer.
