The dataset consists of a list of treatments and relative variables that were varied in an artificial organo-mineral system and measurements of weathering indicators according to earthworm presence and survival. Data was collected within the BAM! project (Bio-Accelerated Mineral Weathering), examining the potential of soil organisms to enhance mineral weathering for carbon sequestration. Data was obtained within 8 rounds of column-experiments carried out between March 2022 and September 2023 in the laboratory of the Wageningen University & Research. The data is separated in two datasets: the first dataset refers to the list of treatments and relative variables that were used to determine the main factors governing earthworm survival and activity in an artificial organo-mineral mixture, including percentages of mineral type and grain size, organic matter type, water flow rate and watering frequency, earthworm number and earthworm species, biochar and enzymes addition; the second dataset includes data for paired treatments with and without earthworms and relative survival rate where a series of weathering indicators were measured, as solid inorganic carbon, dissolved inorganic carbon, alkalinity, pH, electrical conductivity and major ions (calcium, potassium, magnesium, silicon, iron, phosphorus).
