Lapsesta aikuiseksi: 14-vuotiaiden opettajan haastattelu 1974: tekstiaineisto

Haastattelu on osa Lapsesta aikuiseksi -tutkimusta, joka on jatkunut samojen henkilöiden seurantana yli 30 vuotta. Tämän tutkimusvaiheen tarkoituksena oli selvittää 14-vuotiaiden sosiaalista käyttäytymistä ja kasvuoloja. Tutkimusvaiheeseen kuuluivat opettaja-arvioinnin lisäksi tutkimushenkilöiden omat haastattelut (FSD2305), toveriarvioinnit (FSD2073) sekä vanhemman haastattelu (FSD2074). Opettajan haastattelussa käsiteltiin mm. opintomenestystä ja kiinnostusta koulutyöhön, suhtautumista mahdollisiin rangaistuksiin, kodin ja koulun yhteistyötä, oppilaan suosiota ja harrastuksia, luokkakokoa ja vanhempien suhtautumista koulukäyntiin. Opettajan haastattelussa tiedusteltiin ensin, missä koulussa oppilas oli ja kuinka paljon oppilaita hänen luokallaan oli. Seuraavaksi kyseltiin, millainen oppilas oli, kuinka suosittu hän oli, oliko hänellä läheisiä ystäviä, millainen oppilaan asema toveripiirissä oli. Oppilaan koulumenestystä kartoitettiin kyselemällä, kuinka kiinnostunut oppilas oli koulutyöhön, millainen hänen koulumenestyksensä oli, oliko oppilaalla mieliainetta tai erityisvaikeuksia. Lisäksi opettajilta tiedusteltiin, kuinka oppilas selvisi epäonnistumisista tai oliko oppilaalla luvattomia poissaoloja. Opettajalta kyseltiin, oliko oppilasta rangaistu, ja miten oppilas suhtautui rangaistuksiin. Lisäksi selvitettiin tunsiko opettaja oppilaan vanhemmat, ja kuinka vanhemmat suhtautuivat lapsen koulunkäyntiin. Lopuksi tiedusteltiin, oliko oppilas ollut tekemisissä viranomaisten kanssa, tupakoiko hän tai käyttikö alkoholia, oliko käytöksessä tapahtunut muutoksia ja oliko kotoa otettu yhteyttä opettajaan.

The data are part of the Jyväskylä Longitudinal Study of Personality and Social Development (JYLS), in which the same individuals have been followed over 30 years. At this research stage, data were collected using teacher ratings, theme interviews (FSD2305), peer nominations (FSD2073), and parent interviews (FSD2074). The teacher interviews covered topics such as the 14-year-olds' school, the size of their class, their characteristics, status, popularity, school success, motivation, learning difficulties, use of alcohol and smoking, and attitude towards punishments. In addition, the teachers were asked whether they knew the 14-year-olds' parents and what the parents' attitude was towards their child's education. The dataset is available only in Finnish.
