Six short sediment cores (<50cm) were collected using a Multicorer on the continental margin of the Skagerrak between 434 - 677 meter water depth. The sediment cores were retrieved during two research cruises with the RV Alkor, the cruise Al557 from 4th to 23rd of June 2021 and the cruise AL561 from 2nd to 13th of August 2021. Sediment samples were analysed for lead-210 (210Pb) and caesium-137 (137Cs) by gamma spectrometry, fraction modern carbon-14 (F14C) using the MICADAS micro-scale Accelerator Mass Spectrometer, and mercury (Hg) using a Direct Mercury Analyzer DMA-80 evo. The dataset was used to setup an age-depth model covering the last 120 years to determine the temporal variability in sedimentation rates in the Skagerrak.
