MUGS Initial Conditions

DOI

The McMaster Unbiased Galaxy Simulations (MUGS) are a series of cosmological zoom-in simulations of L* galaxies (such as the Milky Way), chosen randomly to allow an unbiased sample in spin parameter and merger history. They were first presented in Bailin et al. 2010 "Consequences of Cosmic Microwave Background-Regulated Star Formation" and Stinson et al. 2014 "Cosmological Galaxy Formation Simulations Using SPH". These are the initial conditions for those simulations, in the Tipsy format used by the ChaNGa and gasoline codes.

The units for the IC are as follows: Length: 68493.2 kpc Mass: 4.7526e16 kpc

The periodic box size should be set to 1 in code units.
