Elucidation of the mechanisms of utilization and defense systems against solar radiation in UV-resistant bacteria isolated from an epipelagic zone

To elucidate the mechanisms of utilization and defense systems against solar radiation in ocean-derived UV-resistant bacteria, seawater samples from an epipelagic zone were coated on an agar medium and irradiated with strong UV light to search for UV-resistant bacteria.
