Deep sequencing of bacteriophage-satellite interaction

A subviral parasites encodes an integrase used for self-mobilizes in response to phage infection and is critical for parasite transduction. This project describes the analysis of a phage-encoded protein that co-opts and exploits the catalytic activity of the parasite's integrase to target the parasite genome for degradation. This loss of the parasitic genome renders the host Vibrio cholerae cell defenseless against phage infection.
