RNA-seq of Sebastes pachycephalus color type with distinct spots and marking

Our study is an attempt to search for functional genes involved in the formation of body color patterns in Sebastes pachycephalus. The differentially expressed unigenes obtained in this study can be used as candidate genes for functional gene study related to body coloration of fish. In order to identify the mechanism causing morphological differences among the subspecies of Sebastes pachycephalus, further studies including a functional study of body color type-specific expression genes should be performed.
