This data set contains experimental data from continuous aqueous two-phase flotation (ATPF) experiments. The laboratory setup for data generation is described in detail in our previous publication (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ces.2024.120287, KITopen-ID: 1000171714).
The data-folder contains experimental data from continuous ATPF experiments (folder: exp_data) and additional raw data (folder: raw). The contents of each folder are described below:
exp_data:
Each data set of an experiment contains a meta-data file (.json-file) and a .csv-file with experimental data. The files contain the following data:
- meta-data file:
- cF_bot_0: feed concentration of enzyme in the bottom phase.
- V_R: volume ratio of top phase to bottom phase.
- online_measurement: set to "true" in case of online measurements.
- experiment_type: the experiment type of all experiments in this data set is "constant_u", because all experiments were performed with constant gas flow rates and volume flows.
- .csv file (analogous to our previously published dataset (DOI: 10.35097/pn5npep7vfjn92fe, KITopen-ID: 1000174648)
- t: flotation time in min.
- R_top, T_bot: recirculation of top and bottom phase (R=1: full recirculation; R=0: no recirculation (continuous operation mode)).
- c_bot_3, c_top_3: enzyme concentration in compartment 3 in % (w/w). The top phase concentration is measured by online UV/Vis spectroscopy, while the bottom phase concentration is calculated by a mass balance equation).
- kappa_bot_1, kappa_bot_2, kappa_bot_3: electrical conductivities in mS/cm.
- Qd_bot, Qd_top: volume flows of each phase in mL/min.
- Vd_1, Vd_2, Vd_3: volume flows of the gassing units in mL/min.
raw:
This folder contains measurement data of the mixing zone height at different gas flow rate combinations (Excel: raw data_height mixing.xlsx, CSV: raw data_height mixing.csv) and the Sauter mean diameter (Excel: raw data_sauter mean diameter.xlsx) for the three porous media glass membrane (v_d32_glass.txt), metal sieve (v_d32_metal.txt) and twill weave (v_d32_twill.txt). The Sauter mean diameters are the raw data from our previous publication (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ces.2020.116391, KITopen-ID: 1000129339)
