Metagenomic samples were collected prior to the start of an undergraduate research project that investigated microbial community assembly during the establishment of two aquariums in the Fall of 2012 at the University of California, Davis. Here, we use these samples to construct metagenome-assembled genomes associated with aquarium environments.
