Views of C/2002 V1 NEAT from SOHO LASCO C3, taken with the clear filter and enhanced as temporal difference images. The field of view of the instrument has been projected into the orbital plane of the comet, where it is shown in an unravelled radial plot.The shell of the CME has been modelled as an area of high density, outlined in green. Note that as the CME moves past the comet, it becomes much harder to keep track of the CME's leading edge.
