Roca Archaeological Survey project: list of the ceramics sampled for the analytical study

DOI

The dataset refers to the study of the pottery production at the site of Roca Vecchia (Melendugno-Lecce, IT) as part of the Roca Archaeological Survey project (RAS) of the University of Bologna (Italy). Roca (or Rocavecchia or Roca Vecchia) was one of the most important sites for the Bronze Age of the Central Mediterranean, which shows a complex history of building and destruction phases and the interactions of different cultural groups. 68 ceramic individuals were sampled spanning from the Middle to the Final Bronze Age phases of the site aiming at exploring how changes in the settlement are matched in technological choices made by the people responsible for the production of impasto (local) pottery at Roca
