In this study, we compare the uterine gene expression changes between non-gestating and gestating states in eight vertebrate species. We test whether there has been convergent or divergent recruitment of genes that are differentially expressed during gestation. Ultimately, we explore the genetic underpinnings of complex trait evolution.
