Microbial community composition and function at Tor Caldara, a shallow-water gas vent in the Tyrrhenian Sea

Shallow-water gas/hydrothermal vents are widespread in the world's oceans but remain understudied. In this study, we investigate the microbial communities at Tor Caldara, Italy, a shallow-water gas vent in the Tyrrhenian Sea, in terms of their composition, physiology and function.
