Picture Trauma Resilience: children co-creating research on transgenerational transmissions (the word "Trauma" is in strikethrough text on purpose)Nkwihoreze is a collaborative research and engagement project between UCL, Uyisenga Ni Imanzi and AERG (Association des Etudiants Et Éleves Rescapés Du Genocide), non-profit organisations based in Rwanda, and is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, UK. Nkwihorze works to promote and facilitate intergenerational dialogue through the arts on sensitive topics within families including loss, absence, conflict, mental distress, and memory.The project aim is to develop culturally appropriate resources to facilitate intergenerational dialogue and psychosocial support, especially in relation to sensitive topics, including the Genocide Against the Tutsi. The poster showcases how Nkwihoreze project works collaboratively with a community in Rwanda through the partner organisations, highlighting the active role of children, young people and local psychosocial workers in co-creating and developing new arts based tools. The poster contains an interactive feature which enables viewers to connect with the realties of young project facilitators, through storytelling. The poster features QR codes (as well as www addresses) connecting viewers to the project website, social media channel and the project films on our Youtube channel.
