These files record, within each 5 km square of area in Scotland, details of roads and road networks.

File A (Incomplete edges) records the number of Class A,B and C roads crossing the boundary of each 5 km square; File B (Complete edges) records the total number of metalled road links which lie completely within each 5 km square; File C records the number of junctions between metalled roads in each 5 km square; File D has information about the total number of dead ends on metalled roads in each square; File E shows the total length of metalled road in each square. This information was originally in miles but was later converted to kilometres.
