Raziskava sodi v sklop ponavljajočih se telefonskih anket, namenjenih spremljanju zadovoljstva z delom vlade in ocenjevanja razmer v državi. Raziskava meri tudi odnos slovenske javnosti do institucij sistema ter strankarske preference. Tokratna meritev je potekala v zoženem obsegu longitudinalnega dela raziskave Politbarometer, aktualno povpraševanje pa je bilo osredotočeno na problematiko strankarskih preferenc v času pred sprožitvijo formalne volilne kampanje v okviru predčasnih volitev poslancev v Državni zbor 13. julija 2014.

The telephone survey Politbarometer runs continuously over the years. Its purpose is to measure attitudes and estimates towards the government and the state institutions through the perspective of public opinion. The majority of the questionnaire in the survey is longitudinal. Minor part of the questionnaire is dedicated to the current (daily) social and political topics or events. This year survey was carried out in the limited scope of the longitudinal part of the survey, current questions were focused on the issue of party preferences in time before a formal election campaign for early elections of Members for the National Assembly on 13 July 2014 started.
