La Bulle Bleue is a unique artistic factory in France, run by a team of people with disabilities that includes everyone from actors and technicians to gardeners and cooks. It is a unique space that offers artists and creatives a place to work, collaborate, and exhibit their work. The centre is designed to be inclusive, welcoming people from all walks of life, regardless of background, age, or artistic medium. Bulle Bleue hosts a performance hall 300m2 for 90 to 300 people, complete with a terrace, garden, and rehearsal room. Since its inception in 2012, it has developed shows with associate artists that run in a cycle of 3 years: Théâtre de La Remise from 2012 to 2015, La Grande Mêlée from 2016 to 2019, Interstices et Intensités from 2019 to 2022. From 2022 to 2025, the show will be enterprise by Paola Stella Minni and Konstantinos Rizos of Futur Immoral and Nicolas Heredia of the company La Vaste. La Bulle Bleue hosts many multidisciplinary events, welcoming local, regional, and national artists for concerts, shows, and workshops. La Bulle Bleue, a project of the ADPEP34, is a member of the En Jeux collective, a partner of the Printemps des Comédiens, the Magdalena Project, and the Théâtre des 13 vents. Currently, 15 actors, 4 show technicians, 5 landscapers, and 16 cooks are associated with the hub. One of the ways that La Bulle Bleue supports emerging artists is through its artist residency program. The residency program allows artists to work and access the centre’s resources and facilities. The program is designed to give emerging artists the time and space to develop their artistic practice and create new work. The centre also hosts regular exhibitions showcasing the work of both emerging and established artists. These exhibitions are open to the public, allowing visitors to engage with diverse artistic styles and mediums. La Bulle Bleue also hosts a variety of workshops and events designed to encourage creativity and collaboration. These workshops and events are open to all, regardless of their artistic experience or background. They allow people to unite, share ideas, and learn new skills. One of the ways that La Bulle Bleue promotes inclusivity is through its commitment to accessibility. The centre is designed to be accessible to people with disabilities, with ramps, elevators, and accessible bathrooms. The centre also offers a range of programs and workshops that are specifically designed for people with disabilities. La Bulle Bleue is home to a diverse range of artists and creatives working across various artistic mediums. From painters and sculptors to filmmakers and musicians, the centre provides a space for creatives of all types to work and collaborate. La Bulle Bleue is a member of the Collectif En Jeux, a distribution group that supports the creation and distribution of works by artistic teams in the Occitanie region. Based on the Culture, Health, Disability and Dependency agreement, supported by the Ministries of Health and Culture, alongside the Regional Centre for Culture and Disability Resources (CRRCH) Occitanie, La Bulle Bleue helps build awareness and produce knowledge and disseminate disability. They also partner with the Magdalena Project, which has supported women artists, researchers, and activists. La Bulle Bleue also works in collaboration with Theater Babel Rotterdam (Rotterdam), Stap Theater (Belgium), Danza Mobile (Seville), Ramba Zamba (Berlin), and Créahm (Liège) on their CLAPHAND project, funded by ERASMUS+ to understand how specific measures relating to people with disabilities are articulated with the standard law measures, in particular at the level of financial aid, training and support for people and projects; observe how the different protagonists in the cultural field are made aware of so that artists with disabilities can be included, analyze the economic and development model of these structures. Their most recent production is La Tempête / Le Songe d'une nuit d'été [such stuff as dreams] (2023), an adaptation of two of William Shakespeare’s pieces, which was produced in collaboration with artist Marie Lamachère.
