The purpose of this study was to collect data on the travel behaviour of households in a rural area of Wales, in order to relate the behaviour of households and individuals to socio-economic and spatial variables.

Attitudinal/Behavioural Questions Location relative to bus route/other settlements. Details of trips made: distance travelled, time taken, travelling companions, method of travel, purpose of journey, day of week, origin and destination, total number of trips (long/short). Background Variables Age, sex, marital status, employment status, annual income (individual and household), socio-economic group. Number of cars, use of car/motorcycle, telephone ownership, number of persons/adults in household.
Twelve parishes were selected using probabilities proportional to size. For each parish, 100 households were selected at random from the rating lists
