Toxic dispersion accidental scenarios

DOI

This database is a json file containing multiple toxic dispersion accidental scenarios. The scenarios were generated using PHAST commercial software for consequence analysis. The accidental scenario under examination is the release of toxic chemical from a horizontal cylindrical storage tank. The different scenarios were built on varying atmospheric, equipment and storage conditions parameters in nine pure, toxic chemicals. Two loss of containment scenarios were taken into account, namely, release from a hole and catastrophic rupture. The output registered for each scenario is the Safety Distance (max distance from the release source) using a toxicity threshold of LC1 (Lethal Concentration 1% in ppm) in exposure time of 10 min. The database is structured as a list of dictionaries, each dictionary corresponding to a single scenario. The total number of scenarios is 224,296.
