Compositional and microstructural characterization of four copper age weapons from Tuscany by time of flight neutron diffraction

DOI

In this experiment, we intend to perform neutron diffraction analysis to analyze the phase composition and microstructure of four eneolithic age weapons found in burial sites in Tuscany. The results will reveal important compositional and microstructural details, which will allow us to determine important information about the manufacturing procedure as the shaping of the mould, the casting procedure, the thermal treatments and the possible mechanical hardening of the cutting edges.
