Muon states and diffusion in alkali halides

DOI

The diamagnetic states formed by muon implantation in alkali halides are to be characterised, and their diffusion studied, by means of RF final-state analysis. The 90° pulse method will be used to generate laboratory-frame precession signals which are free from power broadening, so that the intrinsic linewidths may be measured accurately. The site will be determined by an orientational dependence of the linewidth, and diffusion will be measured by the motional narrowing.
