Mg/Ca-based sea surface temperature estimates and benthic foraminifera oxygen isotope ratios of sediment core MD05-2920

DOI

Mg/Ca ratios measured on planktonic foraminifera Globigerinoides ruber albus (30 shells per sample, 250-355 micrometer size fraction). Cleaning of the shells was done using an oxidative step only. Sea surface temperature estimates were obtained from the Mg/Ca ratios using the following equation Mg/Ca = 0.38 exp (0.09*T) (10.1029/2007PA001564). The dataset also contains benthic foraminifera stable oxygen isotope ratios measured on the species Cibicides wuellerstorfi and Uvigerina peregrina from the 250-355 micrometer size fraction.
