Tintinnid community composition during the 38th Chinese Antarctic cruise to the Cosmonauts Sea in 2022

In this data, tintinnid species occurrence (abundance, ind./L) is presented for each sampling point (depth of a specified station with coordinates) during a cruise with research vessel Xue Long in 2022. Sampling method: Tintinnid samples were taken as large volume (e.g. 80 liters) of seawater in surface waters of every station. Each sample was filtered through a small net (mesh aperture 10 micron). The concentrated tintinnid sampe in the cod end was fixed with acid Lugol's solution at a final concentration of 1%. Taxonomy and abundance estimation in the lab: The concentrated sample were settled in Utermohl counting chamber and examined under inverted microscope. Tintinnid species were identified according to loricate size, shape and decorations. Abundance of each species was estimated according to their counts in the sample and sample volume.
