We measured the leaf length and leaf area of the seagrass species Thalassia hemprichii in each sampling event of the experiment in each treatment. We collected three seagrass shoots per experimental plot and treatment (9 per treatment, 27 in total). They were placed on water resistant paper and taken a picture at the same distance from above. The photos were transferred to the software ImageJ, with which we measured leaf length from the meristem to the tip of the longest leaf (centimeters). The leaf area (square centimeters) was measured as the area of the longest leaf from the meristem to the tip of the leaf.
