LiFeAs is one of the newly discovered FeAs superconductors with still large T_c of 18K. First inelastic neutron scattering experiments on powder and on single-crystalline samples indicate some resemblance of the magnetic excitations with those in previously studied FeAs superconductors. But there are also clear differences: the scattering in LiFeAs is weaker and appears at incommensurate positions. Using large single-crystals containing the 7Li isotope we propose to examine the magnetic response at high energy transfer which is only accessible at a TOF spectrometer. The proposal of spin-triplet superconductivity in LiFeAs and the clear particularities of this material render a thorough analysis of the magnetic scattering highly interesting.
