Heliopora coerulea transcriptome

Blue coral, Heliopora coerulea, has hard crystalline aragonite skeleton with blue pigment. This blue pigment was considered to be originated from biliverdin, which was produced from heme degradation. However, there was no actual evidence for whether biliverdin is synthesized in H. coerulea. To elucidate the pathway for biliverdin synthesis, whole transcriptome of H. coerulea was sequenced with illumina NextSeq500.
