The geometric frustration, combined with other parameters like the net quantum spin state (1/2, 1 or 3/2) is expected to give rise the exotic magnetic ground states such as the spin-glass, spin-liquid and spin-ice in ordered double perovskites (ODPs). Besides so many studies on geometrically frustrated magnetic states in ODPs, it is yet not clear that whether such frustrated magnetic states are unique to ODPs or can be realized in disordered perovskites too. We have recently synthesized the chemically disorder SrMn0.5Ti0.5O3, SrMn0.80W0.20O3 and chemically ordered SrMn0.70W0.30O3 to explore the nature of magnetic ordering taking place at low temperature. This study will be useful in understanding the correlation between unusual magnetic ground states and chemical ordering.
