Smear-slide description of sediment core MSM84_26-1

DOI

Smear slides were prepared using standard glass slides. From the freshly cut core surface, small samples were taken with a tooth pick. Two drops of tap water were added and a homogenous suspension was prepared on the glass slide. One drop of Norland optical cement was placed onto the the dry sediment layer, and the sample was covered with a glass slip. The resin was cured in a UV chamber for 2 minutes. Inspection was done with a petrographic polarizing microscope.
