In the resolution from 28th September 1988 the National Assembly demanded the continuation of research on the state of the youth. Moreover, the latest report should be presented to the National Assembly each legislative period. Corresponding to this resolution the 4th report on the state of the youth was created. The aim of the 4th report on the state of the youth / part A: youth radar is to gain a comprehensive overview over the needs, interest and circumstances of the 14 to 30-year-old Austrians. This overview is then used to form the basis for the development of a continuing research instrument. The study is conducted as a panorama survey which means the study is not limited to one thematic priority. It analyses various areas of life which are of significance in the day-to-day life of young Austrians.
