We request 5 days on NIMROD to characterise the pressure and temperature dependent properties of amorphous icy particles generated in liquid ethane, as they will be used in future planet formation studies. We aim to confirm the amorphicity of the produced particles, obtain quantitative data on their specific surface area, surface roughness/diffuseness, identify potential impacts of the cryomedium on the collisional properties, and determine the temperature range that will make future collision experiments most relevant to planet formation conditions.
