Influence of Maternal Age on the Transcriptomic Response to Seleno-L-Methionine in Daphnia pulex

The goal of this experiment is to further our understanding of multistress interactions. We experimentally test for the influence of maternal age on the transcriptomic response to seleno-L-methionine (SeMet) exposure. Offspring were obtained from maternal populations (n=3) when the mothers were 8-days of age (young moms) and when the mothers were 32-days of age (old moms). The offspring were randomized to be reared in three SeMet treatment groups, 0-ug SeMet/L, 1-ug SeMet/L, or 4-ug SeMet/L.
