Taxonomy and functional diversity of bacterial communities in lake under the Saihanba man-made forest using 16S rRNA gene sequences

Studies on the structure and function of microbial communities spatial and temporal distribution characteristic in lakes around man-made forests are limited. Here, we used NGS sequencing of 16S rRNA genes and bioinformatics tools to assess the microbial taxonomy and metabolic functions observed in Shenlong Lake (lesser visited area), Moon Lake (more visited area), and Qixing Lake (lesser visited area) in the plantation forest of Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm of North China. Since the composition and metabolism of microorganisms change in different lakes under different seasons, the study was conducted in different seasons in order to achieve a comprehensive coverage of microbial species and products in the region.
