Natural Products Discovery Center at UF Scripps

The Natural Products Discovery Center (NPDC) at UF Scripps hosts one of the world's largest collections of Actinobacteria. This collection, a legacy of some of the largest pharmaceutical companies of the 20th century, consists of more than 120,000 bacteria collected over eight decades from 69 different countries. The goal of this project is to sequence the genomes of all NPDC strains and make the strains available to the larger research community. All strains can be acquired via the NPDC Portal (npdc.rc.ufl.edu). Biosynthetic gene clusters can be directly queried at the NPDC Portal.
