Microbiota profiles in the gills of coastal shellfish

Recently, it has been explored that chemosynthetic bacteria in gills of some bivalves living in shallow water have abilities of fixing nitrogen and synthesizing amino acid for their hosts in addition to carbon fixation, but these researches are focused on only some bivalves. Therefore, the project aims to investigate the microbial community structures associated with the gills of various coastal shellfish.
