Correlation between local dynamics and shape of SDS micelles

DOI

This is in continuation with our earlier proposal (RB910248) for which experiment was carried out during August 2009. Fast segmental dynamics of surfactants in rod-like assemblies and their correlation with microstructure is not very well understood although the structure and macroscopic behavior are extensively studied. Local dynamics of these types of assemblies could play an important role in various fields such as the release of solubilized drugs etc. Monomer dynamics is studied for the first time in SDS micelles and the data analysis has resulted in very interesting understanding of the system. However due to problem with the source we loss lot of beam time and could not complete number of measurements as proposed. Here we propose to study the systematic change in internal dynamics in SDS micellar systems at different concentration of electrolytes at different temperatures.
