An archived collection of Vibrio anguillarum strains were sequenced to allow for a detailed analysis of the species population structure and genome features.

Vibrio anguillarum is a significant pathogen of multiple fish species, and is therefore of great commercial importance to the aquaculture industry. As part of a project to bring whole genome sequencing to aquaculture pathogen research - WGS-aqua - we have sequenced a large collection of Vibrio anguillarum strains. Sixty-four Vibrio anguillarum strains were chosen from a variety of sources, geographical regions, serotype.
