Strong spin-orbit coupling (SOC) in 5d transition metal oxides very often leads to unexpectedelectronic and magnetic ground state. While a nonmagnetic J=0 ground state can be anticipatedfrom j-j coupling scheme of 5d4 system, the competition among SOC, crystal field splitting, hopping and electron correlation makes it very rare to realize such J=0 state. Singlet to tripletexcitation can also result small moment and antiferromagnetic interactions among these spins in ageometrically frustrated lattice can give rise to spin-orbit liquid phase. We propose to study musrinvestigation of magnetic ground state of several hexagonal iridates with d4 configuration infrustrated lattice geometry, where we have tuned the exitonic magnetic moment of Ir5+ ionthrough judicial chemical doping, which does not change oxidation state of Ir.
