Habitat and depth affect diversity and functional potentials of bacteria in sediments: A case study of the Yueqing Bay, China

We used MiSeq 16S rRNA gene sequencing approach to characterize the sediment bacterial community from three distinct habitats (mudflats mangrove [Kandelia obovata]and saltmarsh [Spartina alterniflora]) at three depths (0-30, 30-60, 60-90cm) in two areas of the Yueqing bay estuarine system.
