Illumina sequencing of Ostreid herpesvirus 1 infected blood cockle (Anadara kagoshimensis)

Ostreid herpesvirus 1 (OsHV-1) is a contagious viral disease of bivalve mollusks with a wide geographical distribution across five continents. Mass mortalities of adult blood cockle (Anadara kagoshimensis) associated with OsHV-1 infection were confirmed in 2019 and 2021. The genomes of the two varisnts of OsHV-1 collected in 2019 and 2021 were sequenced by direct high-throughput sequencing of infected tissues.
