This project explored the links between climate change mitigation, adaptation and development in land policy and ecosystem restoration projects across South Africa and Madagascar.The ESRC Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP) brings together some of the world’s leading researchers on climate change economics and policy, from many different disciplines. The Centre is hosted jointly by the University of Leeds and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and is chaired by Professor Lord Stern of Brentford. CCCEP was established in 2008 and its first phase ended on 30 September 2013. Its second phase commenced on 1 October 2013 and ended on 30 September 2018.

Data collected through mixed-methods (policy analysis, semi-structured interviews, participatory site visits and focus groups), analysed using thematic analysis.
