This dataset captures detailed information from the Pangea circuit of eReuse, launched in 2016 to manage discarded ICT devices from the Barcelona City Council and various public and private institutions. It comprises a sample of 1,616 ICT devices, each assigned a condition score and traced using eReuse software based on the digital passport concept. These devices were donated by 41 entities (36 private and 5 public), refurbished by three reuse centres, and subsequently distributed to 101 intermediary organisations.
eReuse has developed two tools on which the Dataset is based. Firstly, the Workbench, which is a tool for extracting details about the device's hardware, and testing and wiping device hard disks, is run via a bootable USB stick. The details generated by Workbench are sent immediately to the second tool, the Devicehub. The DeviceHub is a cloud-based device inventory and management system, through which reuse centres manage changes in device lifecycles, exports data wipe certificates, conformity compliance, and other useful documentation. The data has been generated at the time of arrival of electronic devices, after first use to three reuse centres federated to eReuse. To create the data set, the records have been anonymised and exported from the DeviceHub from 2016 until 2021.
