Public Trust in Expertise in the Context of Climate Change and COVID-19 (PERITIA)

DOI

The PERITIA survey is the first major cross-national survey of public trust in expertise used to inform policy making on climate change and COVID-19. While the main focus is on trust in national governments and scientists, the survey also contains measures capturing trust in a wide range of policy actors, including the European Commission, scientists in public, private and HE settings, climate charities and NGOs, news, media and social media organisations, as well as advisory groups such as the World Health Organization and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The data were collected online in January 2022 as part of the EC-funded Policy Expertise and Trust (PERITIA) study in Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland and the United Kingdom. In Armenia CATI (Computer Assistant Telephone Interview) was used to collect data in February-May 2022.
